The Radiology Technologist LMRT Externship Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of students into their externship experiences, directly contributing to their professional development and career readiness. Reporting to the Campus President, this position is responsible for the strategic recruitment, development, and oversight of externship sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards while fostering strong relationships within the medical community.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure organizational benchmarks are met, including 40% extern-to-hire rates.
  • Monitor and maintain regulatory documentation, including site evaluations, time cards, and surveys.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of state, federal, and accrediting board rules for externship programs and ensure adherence.
  • Recruit and maintain externship sites, leveraging marketing and public relations strategies within the medical community.
  • Ensure sufficient externship openings to accommodate student needs.
  • Meet organizational metrics for developing new externship sites.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and externship providers.
  • Collaborate with the Placement Coordinator to assist students with employment post-graduation.
  • Counsel students on attendance and externship scheduling.
  • Track and ensure completion of final exit requirements post-externship.
  • Provide students with career development support, including resume preparation and interview coaching.
  • Update and maintain affiliation agreements with externship sites.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on extern timesheets and attendance records.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records in CampusVue and other systems.
  • Conduct externship orientations and weekly site visits.
  • Participate in staff meetings and student orientations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Career Services Director or Campus President.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) Program or Certificate Program with 3+ years of experience, or completion of a Radiologic Technology Associate’s Degree Program with 2+ years of experience.
  • Certifications required: ARRT, RT, LMRT.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and fostering student success.
  • No prior teaching experience required, but a commitment to helping students achieve their goals is essential.
