The Externship Coordinator for the LMRT Program plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful placement of students in externship sites, directly contributing to their professional development and career readiness. Reporting to the Campus President, this position demands a strategic approach to building and maintaining relationships within the medical community to secure high-quality externship opportunities. The Externship Coordinator is instrumental in aligning externship placements with program requirements, compliance standards, and organizational goals.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards for externship programs.
  • Ensure 40% of externship sites hire students post-program completion, meeting organizational benchmarks.
  • Monitor and maintain student records, including site evaluations, time cards, surveys, and other required documentation, in adherence to TWC and accreditation regulations.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of state, federal, and accrediting board rules and ensure adherence to all regulations.
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain externship sites, including marketing the program to the medical community and managing public relations.
  • Ensure sufficient externship site openings to meet student placement needs.
  • Achieve company metrics for developing new externship sites.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and externship organizations to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the Placement Coordinator to assist students in securing employment post-graduation.
  • Counsel students who fail to attend externship as scheduled and provide necessary support.
  • Track and ensure all students complete a final exit process after externship completion.
  • Provide students with career development support, including professionalism, resume preparation, and interview skills training.
  • Update and maintain affiliation agreements with externship sites.
  • Monitor, track, and provide feedback to externs regarding timesheets and attendance.
  • Ensure accurate recording and filing of attendance records.
  • Maintain CampusVue data for student site assignments.
  • Organize and conduct externship orientation sessions prior to placement.
  • Conduct weekly site visits to monitor externship progress and address any issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings, student orientation, and other departmental activities.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all externship activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Career Services Director or Campus President.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certifications required: ARRT, RT, LMRT.
