CHCP is committed to innovation, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. We’re looking for a Payroll Accountant to join our finance team and help ensure accurate and timely payroll accounting.
Job Summary:
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for recording, verifying, and reconciling payroll transactions. This role supports payroll processing, account reconciliations, and compliance with tax laws across multiple states. You will also work closely with HR and our external payroll providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Record and reconcile payroll journal entries.
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger and intercompany accounts.
Ensure compliance with state unemployment and withholding tax rules.
Help apply for new tax accounts in different states.
Support monthly and yearly financial closings.
Provide payroll info for audits.
Keep payroll data secure and confidential.
Complete special projects as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic understanding of accounting and payroll processes.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Experience with payroll systems or accounting software is a plus.
