The Assistant Director of Financial Aid plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional financial aid services to students and their families. This position is integral to maintaining compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while fostering a supportive and informative environment for students navigating the complexities of financial aid. The role requires a proactive leader who can effectively manage daily operations, support departmental goals, and contribute to the strategic objectives of the Financial Aid Department.

  • Meet with prospective and current students and their families to determine financial aid eligibility and provide guidance on financial aid applications and documents.
  • Assist students in completing FAFSAs by providing clarifying information and examples.
  • Review ISIRs to identify verification or C code requirements and facilitate resolution through documentation collection and reconciliation.
  • Conduct Entrance and Exit counseling sessions with students within 30 days of their last attendance date.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Department to ensure outstanding customer service for students and families.
  • Collect and process documentation to ensure timely and compliant financial aid funding.
  • Create and present student budgets, package financial aid awards, and monitor aid disbursements to ensure timely crediting to student accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant financial aid files in adherence to federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare and submit weekly financial aid reports and provide daily updates to the Director of Financial Aid.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to student inquiries and concerns, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Monitor daily activities to ensure compliance with departmental policies and external regulations.
  • Manage on-campus events, such as orientation and open houses, ensuring proper representation by the Financial Aid Department.
  • Support the Director of Financial Aid in managing the team, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist in leading weekly team trainings and planning team-building activities.
  • Contribute to the hiring, onboarding, and training of Financial Aid Department staff.
  • Lead the Financial Aid Department in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid.
  • Draft and finalize informational reports for submission to the Corporate Office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3-4.5 years of experience in financial aid within a post-secondary institution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting Title IV funding.
  • Basic knowledge of CampusVue database (preferred).
