Pharmacy Technician Externship Coordinator
Summary:
The Externship Coordinator supports the Program Director and campus leadership in securing and managing externship sites for students. This role ensures a sufficient number of quality sites are available, maintains compliance with regulatory standards, and works closely with students and site partners to enhance the externship experience. A key goal is that 40% of externship sites hire students upon completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, develop, and maintain externship sites.
Ensure 40% site-to-hire conversion rate.
Monitor student performance, attendance, and documentation during externship.
Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Conduct site visits and serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and externship partners.
Support students with professionalism, career readiness, and post-externship job placement.
Track student assignments and maintain accurate records.
Conduct externship orientations and participate in campus events.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as Pharmacy Tech. Current/Active State Board License & NHA/PTCB Certification
3+ years or more experience, previous teaching experience. ACPE IV/Sterile Compounding Cert
NHA/PTCB Certification & Texas State Board of Pharmacy License (Required)
ACPE IV/Sterile Compounding Certification (Preferred)
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
Ability to travel 20–50% of the time.
